Bath and Shower Supplies

Welcome to today’s blog post! Today’s topic will be about what to pack for your trip so that you can ensure that you have everything that you need as far as bath/shower supplies. There are actually a lot of things I want to write about as far as packing, but I will start here. There will be other topics to follow in different categories. I didn’t want to overload you with too much at once, baby steps.

I have found out the hard way that, not everywhere, especially in Europe will offer everything you need for your stay. I am also the kind of person that likes to pack lightly and not be over burdened with a heavy bag. Today, the airlines, especially in Europe are very strict with the weight of the luggage that you carry on board, so it’s important to stay within the required limits in weight and sizes.

Travel Towels

Ok, for me this was huge! To give you an idea of who I am and what kind person I am, here is a description. I am a 6 foot tall woman with a lot of hair. When you travel abroad, most hotels will only give you one towel. I am someone who requires TWO towels. Some of my friends share the same sentiment. A towel for my hair and a towel for the body. Most times the one towel will not even cover my body, because I am not a skinny tall woman. I have muscle and I have some curves, so one towel, just does not cover it, at least for me. If it works for you, awesome! I have found a great solution for this. I did some research and I found a microfiber towel that dries quickly and folds small, it is absolutely portable and perfect for travel. I am not going to lie, it isn’t fluffy like a regular towel, but it does dry you perfectly and it covers everything it needs to cover. The best part is, that it fits perfectly in my carry-on or even my personal item and it’s very affordable. I have it here, check it out! I purchased the larger one just because I like to wrap myself in the towel as I get ready for my day.

This towel can be used for dual purposes. You can also use this towel at the beach or pool, I actually think that that is its actual intended use but I use mine for showers when I travel. It also repels the sand at the beach. If you are going to use this towel, I recommend using it as either a shower towel or a beach/pool towel. Not Both! Use it for one function or carry two with you. That’s how convenient and affordable it is, you can afford this space in your luggage for this too.

Another thing that I always bring now is a Hair Turban, because most cases the hotels don’t have adequate towel supplies, we are lucky if we get one each, a hand towel and a mat for the shower and who knows if you even get a wash cloth. They try, they really do, but in my experience, you have to always be prepared just like a girl scout. I will bring the turban because it is small and it dries my hair very quickly and if there aren’t enough towels to go around, no worries I have my back-up. The one I have is below, they can be packed compact and put anywhere in your luggage. Just please make you dry it properly and if it is wet when packed, take it out ASAP so it can fully dry once you get to your next destination. Same goes with the towel.

Travel Shampoo/Liquids

The other thing I would like to recommend is from LUSH Cosmetics. Often times we travel and we are so concerned with the amount of liquids that we can bring with us. Some things to keep in mind, most times you are traveling to another country or even a city within the United States. Remember, you can buy those things in your destination. Unless you are going to spend time in the Amazon Jungle or out in the desert, you can always buy these things at your destination. Shower gel and face wash included. I wouldn’t even bother packing those. Just do your research beforehand so you know how expensive it may or may not be. Also, be aware that they may not have the same brands that you are used too. Keep an open mind. Now, if you are someone who feels the need to bring things along with you, then you can check out the Shampoo bars from LUSH Cosmetics. Why do I love LUSH, first of all, everything is handmade, they are animal cruelty free, vegetarian, they practice ethical buying and packaging is very minimal. See picture below and check out the article all about Shampoo Bars : https://www.lushusa.com/story?cid=article_how-to-use-shampoo-bars-conditioners

The awesome thing about the Shampoo bars is that they have a bar for every hair type need. They have different ingredients in each, they have different scents and they are reusable. Once you are done with it, you can just put it in the tin until next time, until you use it all. This is a great thing if you are someone who can’t decide which liquid to take or leave.

Please note, I will ONLY recommend things that I have used and feel has worked for me. I am always looking to to make things easier for myself and I will take those things that work for me and share with you.

I hope this helps you when you are planning for your next trip. You can bet that these things are always with me when I travel! Till next time!

Happy Traveling
